MARR has developed procedures for optimizing logistics processes, aimed at reducing the number of vehicles circulating on the roads, to improve traffic conditions and contribute to the reduction of emissions into the atmosphere.
MARR has two systems integrated in the operating process, which constitute support tools in the logistics field:
1. ROOTS TRACKING: a vehicle monitoring system from the moment of departure from the distribution units up to delivery, which allows the position of the vehicle to be known in real time and to notify the customer in the event of any delays. Through a detection and recording system it is also possible to monitor the temperature in the load compartments in order to guarantee control of the cold chain.
2. TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - TMS : a journey planning system, i.e. a routing software structured to define the optimal "delivery round" for each vehicle.

All the vehicles used to carry out the supplies are suitable for food transportation and several of these have a low environmental impact (powered by LNG gas, latest generation Euro 6 and electricity).
MARR's commitment to
environmental protection through an increasingly sustainable logistics network
includes a circular economy project launched by Chef Express in collaboration
with the multi-utility Hera Group for the use of biofuel produced from exhaust
vegetable oil.
The project requires
the Hera Group to collect and process used vegetable oil produced by Chef
Express stores. This is then transformed into biofuel, which is purchased and
used by some of MARR's transport vehicles for deliveries to its customers.
Since MARR joining
of the project at the end of 2024, an average of 11,400 liters of HVO biofuel
per month have been used.

Kitchen waste thus
becomes an important new resource for a virtuous circular economy project.
